This is purely cosmetic and doesn’t effect playabilty in any way. Building your dream guitar? Here we have a stunning roasted maple Strat neck with a Rosewood fretboard. The Rosewood used in our necks has an excellent grain and colour. The top of the fretboard is hand-finished in fretboard finishing oil for super smooth playing. All other parts of the neck are finished with Nitro Satin, which really makes the baked maple stand out. This neck is made to vintage specifications with 21 frets, 8mm tuning holes and truss rod adjustment at the heel of the neck.What is Roasted Maple? Our roasted maple necks undergo a special kiln drying process, which involves heating the wood to over 200 degrees in a special kiln, removing the moisture from the wood. This process vulcanises the wood, making it stronger. The big advantage is that after this process, the wood becomes much less susceptible to moisture and climate changes, resulting in a more stable and predictable piece of wood.  This is great for necks, especially, and will minimise the need for adjustments between seasons and different weather conditions.  An extra added bonus from this process is that, while stabilising figured maple, which is typically not so stable, it also greatly enhances the colour and figure in the wood.  The finished product usually looks stunning, has improved tone and increased sustain!All of our necks also come with bone nuts and 2-way truss rods installed.This neck is perfect as an upgrade, as if you are building your own parts caster.
